Growing Organic Cat Grass Blend Sprout Seeds

Detailed growing instructions on a user-friendly card are included with each purchase of Cat Grass Blend Seed. Portion out only what you will immediately use. Take 1/3rd of a cup of the cat grass blend seed and soak it in room temperature water for 6-8 hours. While this is soaking, prep a 10x10 seed starting tray with your medium of choice. Coconut coir works great. Avoid using any medium that has artificial fertilizer to protect your pets. Fertilizer-free potting soil works well too.

After the soak period, rinse the seeds well and evenly spread them out on top of the medium so that they are in a single layer. Do not cover with growing medium but use another tray to place on top and keep them in complete darkness. Once they have sprouted, move them to a sunny windowsill to allow them to continue growing and developing that lovely green color. Avoid letting the soil totally dry out at any point. If mold begins to form, it is safe to make a diluted hydrogen peroxide blend to spray at the base of the sprouts to deter this growth.

Benefits of Organic Cat Grass Blend Sprouts

Cat Grass Blend contains protein, potassium, iron, calcium, phosphorus, zinc, Vitamin B-complex, Vitamins C, E, and K, folic acid, fiber, and chlorophyll. Cat Grass Blend is a natural hairball control and supports the healthy digestion of dogs, cats, and bunnies.

Serving Tips

Once you have the blend sprouted and growing according to the instructions provided, leave it out in the open so your pet(s) can easily see it and access it. If your pet(s) have never experienced indoor pet grass before, it may take some time for them to get used to it and then eventually eat it. Keep it watered and in the sun while they decide if they are willing to eat it. If they seem uninterested, you can also cut, wash, and juice the grass for human consumption!

Stories From Our Gardeners

"My dog used to eat grass outside all the time. I tried offering this to him and he was unsure at first but I hand-fed him the first few times until he got the hang of it. I feel so much better knowing he is eating clean grass!"
